The Sanya district of Tokyo is known as a town for day labourers and was once a bustling place during the high economic growth period after WWⅡ. However, as the day labourers aged, the area became what is referred to as a “welfare town”.
Toru Honda is a doctor who provides free medical care in this town. The people who rely on him are street dwellers as well as elderly people living in common houses. Are the people who supported Japan’s growth being cut off from medical care?
This film follows the final chapter of the day labourers.
